Isn't this the truth?

An Obituary printed in the London Times.......

An Obituary printed in the London Times........ Interesting and sadly
rather true

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who
has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was,
since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He
will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the
worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies ( don't spend
more than you can earn ) and reliable strategies ( adults, not children,
are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the
job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental
consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could
not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses;
and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a
burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in
her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by
his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son,
Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If
you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do
nothing.

Bloody Mornings

You know it's time to clean out your pantry when you reach for the oats and the maple syrup (sugarfree of course) hits the floor and explodes with a container of pasta quick to follow.

FUCK!!!!

Is this a sign of the day to come???

The Week That Was

Hey All,
I trust you had a fantastic Aussie Day! Aussie Aussie Aussie!
I went to the tennis on Tuesday night. It was fantastic. It only took me about 16yrs to get there. We saw Sam Stouser and Raffa!! My meeting went well on Wednesday morning, then I went home on Thursday. Worked all day Friday then off to the farm on Sat until Aussie day.
The builder has finally turned up and I now have half a wall and celling. We are waiting for the electrician to come then the plaster can do his bit, then the Air con guy, then the painter, then the carpet layer. At this rate I should be in my new office in about 2101! It was all suppose to be finished before Christmas.
Bloody tradesmen!! Bloody men in general!

The above pic is of my sister in law and yours truly at the tennis.

Our company has won a contract in Melb, so it should start about late Feb/Early March. You beauty, besides the financial bonus, it is so great to spend some more time in Melbourne. I'm a Melbourne girl though and through. I lived there for the first 25 yrs of my life. Love it. We will move back one day, there are many other places I would like to live first.

The runt of the litter starts high school tomorrow. How in the hell do I have my 2 babies in high school when im only 21? :)

Bed for me now.

COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to Melbourne tomorrow for a few days. I have a meeting on Wednesday morning, but the most exciting thing for me is I'm going to the Australian Open tomorrow night.
According to the news I will be seeing Lleyton Hewitt v Fernando Gonzalez. I'm not sure who is playing in the woman's draw. I have been wanting to go to the tennis for about 16yrs now. Usually something comes up such as, me living in Tassie for 11 yrs or saving money for school fees.
So look out for me, I will be the one in the nosebleed seats waving like a mad woman.
Okies, best get on with my day!

Friend or Foe?

I have this person in my life at the moment. I’m not sure if she is friend or foe, I will let you be the judge.
Let’s call her R. She doesn’t know I blog so I doubt very much she will find out about this.
I have known her for about 2 yrs now. I met her when she worked at the local post office, as I don’t have mail delivery here; I’m at the PO every day. She use to work fulltime there but has since had a baby. She is 11yrs younger than me at 29. Before she had her baby we use to “do” lunch about once a month, sometimes chatted on the phone but that was about it.
Since she has had her baby a little over a year ago now she has been what my husband calls stalking me.
At first I thought it was because she was lonely at home with a bub, but now I’m not so sure.
She calls me EVERY day. Not just once but about 5-6 times a day. Once we spend 6 hours together at a garden show and then when she got home she called me. Most of the time she talk about herself and things that are happening in her life. IE: child, husband and in laws.
When I had lost my license she would call me to see if I wanted anything when she was out or needed a lift, which was nice but I’m a VERY independent person, and usually don’t ask for help even if I really need it. If there is something I can't do myself, I will pay someone. It has got to the stage that I would walk most places just to be away from her.
A few weeks back I was about to go out with my husband when the phone rang. It was her; thanks to the number being displayed I didn’t answer it so I could go out. A few hours later when we got home, I kid you not we didn’t even have time to put the handbrake on when she was behind me in our drive.
She got out and said,
R: ohh you didn’t answer my calls.
Me: Yes R because I wasn’t home.
R: but you didn’t answer my texts
Me: I didn’t have my phone with me.
R: Ohh ok then.
Me: Is everything ok.
R: yes I just missed you, that’s all
With that husband said, well I will leave you two to catch up, I’m going in the shed.
This is what it is like with her.
She has even been know to call when I wasn't home and my daughter answered tell her I wasn't home. Then 10 mins later she will call back blocking her number to see if I answer.
She knew for Xmas I was getting a Kitchen aid mixer, Guess what she put on layby the day after? She copied my cake stand. She read the books I read. I really think the only reason she doesn’t dress like me is that she is about 6ft tall and about a size 18-20.
Its all getting a bit too “single white female” for me.
We were both going to this fundraising function (it was seriously about 500m from my home)a girl who would have to drive past my home offered to pick me up, but she mentioned it to R, R said to me that she was pissed off that the other person had offered when she knew that R and I were friends.
Now I’m working fulltime for our company, and remember my office is at home (Yes still in the house has the fricken builder still hasn’t started the wall in the cottage) She just doesn’t seem to understand that I’m WORKING. I can’t talk on the phone all day about nothing.
When I say I’ve got to go (100% of the time is my saying I’ve got to go) I usually say I will call you back later. If I don’t call back by the arvo she calls me and says. We (as in the baby and her) thought you forgot about us. No stalker I was BUSY!!!!!
I think she has a good heart but just too full on for me.
I have told her that I’m working so I can’t catch up/talk as much on the phone any more. She has back off to about 2 calls a day.
Sigh.
I think I need to run for the hills, Shame is it so fucking flat around here… LOL
What should I do?????

Picking finished for the year!

Yay! All of the oranges are picked for this season.
Number of injuries this season:
*2 Wasp stings
*Countless ant bites, One bit me on my eye ball! I kid you not, I was looking up and it fell in under my glasses. The little bugger wouldn't let go even when it was dead. It took a pair of tweezers to dislodge the fucker! It hurt like hell!!!
*Way too many bruises.
*1000's of scratches. Did you know orange trees have thorns on them?? I bet you didn't.
*Not one ladder fall.
All this was just me, the others had pretty much the same except for the ant in the eye *Grin*
We have Valencia oranges. We sell them for juice.
So think of all the poor pickers when you pour your morning juice.
We decided to pick our own this year, as with all farming there is bugger all earned when we sell it on. I really don't mind picking , I just hate the wildlife..LOL
We have almost organic fruit, I say almost as I'm not 100% if there are any sprays or treatment in the water. We will be spraying and fertilising this year, will make for a much better crop.

Okies Bed for me now!

FINE IN 09!!

So, have you noticed that almost all of the blogs started a post off with SO at a little while back? Funny how everyone copies each other, like a fad.
Well I’m going to FINE in 09!! That is my motto for the year. As you know I had the year from hell last year.
That was then and this is now.
All is good here. I spent my Xmas time off from my usual job crutching sheep and cutting firewood!
The life of an entrepreneur is not an easy road, let me tell you.
We have 3 businesses at the moment. Our main company of which shall remain nameless. We have our sheep station and also an orange orchard. We are picking as we speak. One thing about my life is it is far from boring. One day I’m handling an OH+S issue or writing a QA policy, the next I’m drenching sheep.
At the moment I’m sporting a stunning (NOT) 63kg frame. I kid you not when I stand in front of the mirror in my undies and bra I look like a fricken Christmas cracker! I have only put on about 4kgs but since I haven't exercised for a while my arse is going south. I do have plans though. Im going to do one of those 12 week thingies. 12 weeks will be great as on the 25th of April I turn 40!
I have been reading everyone’s blogs but as always not saying too much. I really need to comment more I think.
Kids are driving me nuts so I know all is well with them.
Husband is great! I still have a new husband.
My office is coming along. Well that is if the bloody builder cares to show his face and make a start on the wall. I have brand new office furniture all unused as it is so hot at the moment (40deg+) and the air con cant be fitted in the office until the wall and painting is done, I’m still running the company from our dinning room. *sigh* Thank god I don’t have any meeting planned here in the next few weeks.
I will post pics of the lovely little cottage on our property that we using as our office.
So signing off now,
Happy New Year and remember I’m FINE in 09!!!
